I provide consulting services in my core areas of expertise as well as additional areas in which I have dedicated consulting experience. With a solid management consulting background in world-class firms including the Big Four, I have the knowledge and poise you expect from high-performers. My focus is on providing measurable results in targeted “problem areas” on time and on budget.

The VCG Integration Model is the foundation of Edelweiss consulting services. The VCG acronym stands for Virtual, Cultural and Generational, the three core areas of the model, because the issues that clients approach me to help solve tend to revolve around at least one of these topics. Although many people initially believe that their organizational challenges are due to conflicting management styles, lack of vision, political or economical challenges, or other obviously visible areas, the core issues are actually typically lurking around one of these topics, or a cross-section thereof.

The center of this model is Emotional Intelligence supported by strategic communications. And what brings alignment and understanding to the challenges that these areas bring to the global workforce is a strong change management initiative.

The challenges of today’s global workforce are multi-dimensional. The VCG Integration Model seeks first to holistically understand the dynamics and impact of the three core areas. If your team, department, or company as a general whole is experiencing an unexplained shift in culture, productivity or growth, I can help you target and then improve the derailing issues.

When working with your team using the VCG Integration Model isn’t advisable, it might be more effective to focus on driving targeted improvement in one of these areas…

What area is responsible for internal communications in your organization? What about external communications? How effective are those teams at communicating with one another? How many leaders are providing them with direction, and are those leaders providing consistent messaging accurately reflects the company’s strategic goals?

I continue to be amazed by how disconnected communication efforts are in companies of all sizes. As a communication consultant, my expertise helps organizations gain clarity around their communication strategy and measure its long-term effectiveness.

Related to this: the cost of poor internal communications is quantifiably significant – head to the Communications page to learn how, and why your leadership team should be laser-focused on effective communications at all times.

Internal Communications

Problem #1: In many organizations, internal communications are handled by HR and sometimes marketing, often time a mix thereof. Most organizations understand the importance of internal communications but fail to understand their true impact on long-term company success.

Integrated Communications

Problem #2: Without a strategic communication plan, organizations cannot deliver a message to internal and external audience that will implement their vision and branding initiatives. Most companies treat their internal and external communications as two separate initiatives.

External Communications

Problem #3: In most organizations, external communications are handled by the PR and marketing departments. Unfortunately, those teams don’t always march to the same orders, and opportunities to strengthen branding and messaging are lost. Aligning their efforts is critical.

Understanding your organization’s strategic business goals, I can help your team craft and deliver a fully integrated communication strategy that effectively caters to all subsets of internal and external stakeholders. Careful consideration is given to the areas most significantly impacting effective communications in subtle (and often unrecognized) ways: generational differences, cultural differences, and the use of technology in business.

Global / Virtual Collaboration

Virtual teams, whether they are scattered across one continent or many, are fundamentally different in nature to their co-located team counterparts. Executives sometimes wonder why managers who are superstars with their local teams fail to perform in the virtual environment. To be effective, virtual team members and their leaders need to understand how to best collaborate in their dispersed environment. Unfortunately, many organizations fail to recognize how and why virtual teams are different from other team configurations, and fail to provide adequate training to those involved.

My extensive experience helping organizations improve their virtual collaboration enables me to partner effectively with global teams seeking to improve in this area. Through a series of workshops, training and tools, I can help your dispersed teams understand where they are falling short, and bridge the gap to much higher performance, efficiencies and overall satisfaction. Change Management

Unlike project management, which addresses the technical and procedural aspects of change, the field of change management addresses the people side of change.

How do you manage change within your organization? Or better put, DO you manage change? Studies have shown that of the companies that do attempt to lead their organizations through change, at least 70% do not meet their objectives – a number that has not changed in decades. And the main obstacle for success in change projects is employee resistance and ineffective change management initiatives. In contrast, Prosci’s 2015 research showed that of the 245 research participants who reported having effective change initiatives, 94% met or exceeded project objectives.

As a certified Prosci change management professional with experience leading large change initiatives, I can partner with your teams to make the people side of change as successful as possible. Founded in 1994 and recognized as the global authority in change management processes, Prosci’s ADKAR methodology is the gold standard for effective change initiatives.
